Find the final four digits
On tires using the four-digit date format, the first two digits identify the manufacturing week and the last two identify the year. For example, 2324 indicates week 23 of 2024. The complete marking may appear on only one sidewall.
Age is one part of inspection
Condition depends on use, storage, exposure, damage and manufacturer guidance—not the date alone. Inspect cracking, bulges, cuts, tread and pressure, and consult the tire or vehicle manufacturer when deciding replacement timing.
Do not invent a date
If the complete identification string is unclear, have it physically inspected. Other numbers on the sidewall are not automatically a manufacturing date.
